Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Storage & Backup Systems Administrator to manage and maintain enterprise-level data protection environments. This role involves administering backup infrastructure, ensuring data availability and integrity, supporting disaster recovery operations, and optimizing storage systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NetBackup, AutoSys, and enterprise storage technologies, along with strong scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation capabilities. Key Responsibilities: • Administer and maintain enterprise backup environments using Veritas NetBackup, AutoSys, and related tools for job scheduling, monitoring, and reporting. • Manage access controls, credentials, certificates, and GUI interfaces for backup and storage systems. • Configure and update backup policies; add and remove servers from backup schedules as needed. • Perform and support data restoration and full system backups, particularly in server decommissioning scenarios. • Manage tape operations including loading/unloading, location tracking, and inventory reconciliation. • Monitor and optimize storage utilization; perform regular cleanup of logs, volumes, and obsolete data. • Participate in software and firmware upgrades related to storage and backup infrastructure. • Support disaster recovery testing, planning, and execution to ensure business continuity. • Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements, maintenance, and escalated support. • Generate operational, compliance, and performance reports; maintain comprehensive documentation (CMD sheets). Required Qualifications: • Proven experience with Veritas NetBackup, AutoSys, and enterprise storage systems (disk and tape-based). • Solid understanding of backup and recovery best practices, disaster recovery procedures, and media management. • Proficiency in basic scripting languages such as PowerShell and Shell/Bash for task automation. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex backup/storage issues. • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with attention to detail and process adherence. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in a large-scale IT environment or managed services provider. • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management practices. • Certifications in storage or backup technologies (e.g., Veritas Certified Specialist) are a plus. Educational Qualifications: • Candidate should be a graduate with a min of 15yrs of education.
