What is Power detention authorization?
When a shipper or receiver holds a driver over the contracted amount of time for loading or unloading of product and the customer requires a special type of authorization before billing.
What are the Power detention authorization specialist’s responsibilities?
Monitoring the authorization queue and following the customer’s specific process to obtain authorization from the customer before billing for power detention. This could be via website, excel spreadsheet, or customer form.
What a day in Power detention Authorization looks like:
Each billing specialist is assigned specific accounts in a queue that require some type of authorization before we can bill the customer. The specialist will follow the outlined process for their customers on a set schedule. This could be through a customer website, special customer form via email. They will follow up with customers to obtain approvals and enter the charges accrued into our system to bill. All specialists are given a daily goal of events they should be achieving.
Key Responsibilities:
• Communicate with the internal and external stakeholders to collect documentation for invoicing, inputting, and processing transactions into billing systems
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address billing questions, escalate issues, & resolve basic problems
• Answer external customer billing questions and troubleshoot billing issues
• Understand contract implications and implement invoicing in compliance with customers needs
• Prepare billing information and verify any changes to support an accurate and efficient billing process
• Distribute/Track outgoing correspondence to external customers for return compliance and authorization
• Understand and executive administrative procedures, policies, and practices
Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
