Job Description

The Senior Communications Advisor, Stakeholder Engagement is a senior individual contributor role responsible for shaping, modernizing, and executing communications that support the full range of external stakeholder audiences within the Stakeholder Engagement function — including providers, regulators, brokers, agents, consultants, and employer groups.

This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, reputation management, and stakeholder trust. It requires a communicator with strong judgment, comfort navigating ambiguity, and the ability to anticipate and shape how decisions are received across a diverse stakeholder landscape.

What You’ll Do

Enterprise Stakeholder Communications Strategy

  • Serve as a communications advisor across provider, regulator, broker, agent, consultant, and employer audiences, ensuring messaging supports enterprise priorities, affordability goals, and business credibility.

  • Develop forwardlooking communications strategies that prepare external stakeholders for policy, product, operational, and market changes.

  • Translate complex business decisions into clear, credible, and disciplined stakeholder communications that reduce confusion and friction, tailored to the needs of each audience.

Environmental Conditioning & Trust Building

  • Proactively shape the external environment to build trust across stakeholder audiences and protect enterprise reputation.

  • Anticipate areas of confusion, resistance, or risk among stakeholder groups and develop communications strategies to address them before issues escalate.

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, Provider Network and Sales, to ensure alignment and consistency.

Modernization & Strategic Evolution

  • Lead the evolution of stakeholder communications away from legacy, highvolume, reactive models toward more intentional, prioritized, and impactdriven approaches.

  • Challenge outdated tools, channels, and processes; recommend where to stop, simplify, or redesign communications to meet modern stakeholder expectations.

  • Support the Director in advancing a modern Stakeholder Engagement function that emphasizes clarity, judgment, and strategic value over volume.

CrossFunctional Leadership

  • Operate effectively across Marketing, Sales Enablement, Business & Product Communications, and other Communications functions without direct reporting authority.

  • Influence outcomes through expertise, credibility, and sound judgment rather than positional power.

  • Ensure smooth handoffs and coordination across stakeholder audiences.

Affordability & Enterprise Narrative Support

  • Contribute to enterprise affordability communications as they relate to provider, regulator, broker, agent, consultant, employer, and community/trade audiences.

  • Ensure affordability messaging is grounded in business reality, credible to each audience, and aligned with broader enterprise narratives.

  • Help connect systemlevel affordability strategies to what external stakeholders need to understand and communicate confidently.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 5+ years of experience in related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Bonus Points

  • Extensive experience in enterprise communications, stakeholder communications, or a closely related discipline.

  • Strong strategic instincts and the ability to operate independently with sound judgment.

  • Comfort working in a structure with high accountability and limited direction.

  • Willingness to lead change, challenge legacy norms, and modernize communications practices.

  • Ability to balance empathy for stakeholders with discipline around enterprise priorities.

  • High tolerance for ambiguity and an ability to drive clarity where it does not yet exist.

What You’ll Get

  • The opportunity to work at the cutting edge of health care delivery with a team that’s deeply invested in the community

  • Work-life balance, flexibility, and the autonomy to do great work

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage along with numerous health and wellness programs

  • Parental leave and support plus adoption and surrogacy assistance

  • Career development programs and tuition reimbursement for continued education

  • 401k match including an annual company contribution
