A role in Logistics, means you’ll focus on the efficient transportation of product from
the Target distribution network and stores to our guests. Here, you’ll be challenged
to pivot seamlessly from analysis and planning, to working with internal partners to
achieve the aggressive, transformative goals we have ahead of us. You’ll establish
and develop great relationships with our field operations teams to encourage on-
time shipment and delivery to our guests. And you’ll analyze transportation supplier
capabilities for maximum speed, reliability and cost effectiveness. Focus on carrier
relationship and engagement will be key to the success in this role.
As a Logistics Analyst, you will be responsible for assessing and improving the guest
requirements of our network working with our partners. You’ll identify opportunities
for efficiency and contribute to a strong culture of excellence by addressing safety
trends through process improvement and ensuring that clear expectations are set
and met. You’ll collaborate with group leaders, internal partners, and headquarters
and field leaders to ensure a high level of service, maximize efficiency and serve as
a change agent to champion continuous improvement and do what is best for the
guest. You'll be be responsible for identifying and exploring data sets in order to
create actionable metrics and reports for operations teams. This includes mining the
data for performance improvement and expense savings opportunities and
recommending solutions to business problems by building quantitative business
cases. More specifically, you’ll be involved in the following:
Work with cross functional teams to leverage the right data to drive superior
execution of transportation solutions.
Ability to understand key operational processes across a variety of
distribution center types, to include regional centers, fulfillment centers and
Multi-Channel supply chains and apply this knowledge across the network.
Develop, support and manage efficient supply chain processes through
communication, execution of special events, realignments, new store
openings and HQ driven initiatives. Responsible for maintaining key
relationships with internal business partners.
Effective program management of steady state and new services that are
implemented in the store and distribution network.
Proactive identification of problems, getting to root cause and developing and
implementing process improvements through technology
Identify and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that drive the team
toward excellence.
Use data and metrics to deeply understand the business, identify areas in
need of improvement, influence others, and measure the impact of actions.
Inspire intellectual curiosity around operational improvement opportunities.
Advocate for decisions based on what is good for Target holistically and act as
agents for change instead of accepting the status quo.
Job Requirement
Bachelors in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or relevant
experience as a business analyst/data analyst /statistical analyst role.
Robust critical thinking skillset with knowledge of root cause identification
techniques. Creative approach to problem solving and strong analytical and
reasoning skills
Expertise in Microsoft Excel/ VBA/ Greenfield
Excellent communication skills (verbal / written) – Ability to effectively
communicate with both business and technical teams
Manage relationships with internal partners to keep them informed on the
perspective and impact related to supply chain initiatives.
Communicates to share knowledge and findings
oPresents results in a manner that the business partners can understand
oCommunicate impact of proposed solutions to business partners
Should be a team player
Should be able to demonstrate learning ability
Is curious and has a willingness to learn be it new skills/tools etc.
Ability to follow through with ideas and deliver on commitments
Preferred Qualification
Experience in any of the following technical Skills would be preferable; SQL, R
or Python
Experience in supply chain (distribution, logistics, planning etc) would be
preferable
Has handled analysis of large volume of data
Has prior experience in automating processes using various automation tools
