We are looking for a paralegal to assist a dynamic international team of Capital Markets lawyers based in Seoul. With direct supervision of the lawyers, the paralegal would be expected to assist on the tasks such as:

Legal Works

  • Drafting documents and emails
  • Research
  • Due diligence
  • Translation of documents (including emails) from and to Korean and English
  • Attend client meeting to act as a translator for the Linklaters lawyers visiting from other countries
  • Document translation from Korean to English (eg 50 pages document)
  • Searching Korean news articles related to a certain industrial sector, translating those articles into English and preparing a summary report of the articles on a weekly basis.

Marketing Support

  • Drafting pitch materials
  • Organizing client events

Other

  • Assist with office administration or any other work as required

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications Required

  • We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised, accurate, committed, efficient, able to think logically, meets deadline, works well as part of a team but is a self starter and gets on with tasks without prompting.
  • Fluent Korean and English language skill (both oral and written) is essential, and at a native level. Understanding of Korean customs/courtesy is a must.
  • We require a high level of academic achievement. Qualification as a solicitor and experience as a Paralegal is not required.

Employment status

This position will begin as a 1-year fixed term contract, but the expectation is that someone will stay a minimum of 2 years. We are looking for someone who does not necessarily have experience as a Paralegal. For example, someone preparing to apply for a UK or US Law School or studying to be qualified in the UK or US, and hence looking for a good working experience at an international law firm is welcomed to apply for this position. We also welcome people who studied law in the UK and are studying for the SQEs (or have passed them) who is looking for the 2 year working experience necessary for qualification.
