Technical Pre‑Sales Consultant (Enterprise Payments)
About the Role
As an Technical Pre‑Sales professional at FIS, you will provide both functional and technical expertise across our Enterprise Payments solutions. You will work closely with sales, product and engineering teams to support client engagements, shape solution architecture, and ensure our offerings meet customer needs throughout the sales cycle.
What You Will Be Doing
- Engage with prospective and existing customers to understand business and technical requirements.
- Articulate how EPC solutions address customer challenges and deliver value.
- Respond to technical questions, identify gaps, and provide clear, timely guidance.
- Assess customer technology environments and identify solution alignment.
- Deliver high‑quality product demonstrations, presentations and workshops (virtual and on-site).
- Present solution capabilities and architecture using tools such as PowerPoint, Visio and FIS’s VTK tooling.
- Lead and contribute to responses for RFIs and RFPs.
- Provide detailed technical input across non-functional areas including integration, security, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, tooling, regulatory requirements and roadmap topics.
- Create and maintain pre‑sales documentation including technical presentations, brochures and specifications.
- Partner with sales, product management, engineering and functional pre‑sales to build cohesive and competitive solutions.
- Stay informed on product capabilities and future enhancements through internal collaboration.
- Work with internal pre‑sales colleagues to develop solution designs that meet customer requirements and showcase EPC strengths.
- Lead and support Project Definition Study (PDS) workshops as part of pre‑implementation engagements.
- Produce associated technical requirement documents.
- Plan, coordinate and support Proof of Concept (POC) activities within customer environments to validate solution capability.
- Provide global technical guidance throughout the sales cycle, supporting sales teams and customer evaluations.
- Train and upskill sales teams on product features, architecture, positioning and competitive landscape.
What You Bring
Technical Skills
- Understanding of payments; experience with FIS EPC products is an advantage.
- Awareness of current and emerging industry technologies.
- Experience with:
- Kubernetes
- Oracle / PostgreSQL
- Kafka
- REST APIs
- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud)
- MQ technologies
- SIEM tooling (e.g., Splunk)
- Experience in technical, customer‑facing roles within software, payments or related sectors.
- Strong presentation and demo delivery skills, both virtual and onsite.
- Proven experience supporting complex RFI/RFP responses.
- Ability to capture and interpret customer requirements effectively.
- Experience developing detailed technical documentation and proposal content.
- Exposure to large‑scale solution design or implementation projects.
