What you will do:

The shipping supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shipping department. He or she oversees the activities of the logistics planners and makes sure that all orders are processed and shipped in a timely and efficient manner.

Will be in direct communication with OTM planners to ensure correct carrier assignations.

How you will do it:

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shipping area organized, and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Verify that orders are complete and meet customer specifications before release.

• Schedule and assign employees to specific tasks.

• Train new employees on company policies and procedures

• Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.

• Handle customer complaints and escalate to management as necessary.

• Prepare and submit reports on daily activities and metrics.

• Stay up to date on changes in transportation laws and regulations

• Manage inventory of shipping supplies and place orders when necessary

• OTM communication.

• Delivery creation on SAP.

• Responsible to manage different yard locations.

• Report and keep record of over time requirements.

What we look for:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field

• 3-5 years’ experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse management.

• Proven leadership and supervisory skills

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer applications

Preferred:

• Manufacturing experience (HVAC a plus).

• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

• Superior computer skills in MS Office applications

• Strong desire of learning, benchmarking.
