Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data warehouse and all related extraction, transformation, and load data functions. This role designs and implements standards and procedures for platform validation and maintains data integrity through the data lifecycle. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define new data assets and lead the design and architecture of data models to integrate the data assets to support data use in reporting and analytics. This role serves as the interface to technology upgrades, file transfer procedures, code management, and job scheduling.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing data storage: Use data warehousing technologies to optimize data storage, retrieval, and organization. 
  • Ensuring data quality: Develop and enforce data quality frameworks and validation procedures. 
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders: Translate business requirements into technical solutions. 
  • Designing and implementing data pipelines: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines that support business objectives. 
  • Applying programming skills: Use programming languages like Python or SQL to query and manage data. 
  • Mentoring junior data engineers: Guide their professional development and foster a collaborative team environment. 
  • Identifying and resolving issues: Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability. 
  • Planning security measures: Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases. 
  • Staying current with industry trends: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve data solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience in software development required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience working with Data Warehouses.
  • Experience in Azure SQL, Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Extensive experience using Data Definition Language (DDL), Data Manipulation Language (DML) or Performance Tuning, and Indexing.
  • Experience leading data projects required.
  • Extensive experience using MS SQL Server and T-SQL required.  
  • Knowledge or experience working with Microsoft Fabric and Java/Python/.Net a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $194,200.00.
