See yourself in our team

Group Financial Risk (GFR) is a broad team that deploys the Group’s credit frameworks, manages and monitors the Group’s credit risk exposures and supports non-retail customers via the Group Credit Structuring Unit.

The GFR – Portfolio, Policy and Provisioning (PPP) team works closely with Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 teams across all Business Units and Subsidiaries, domestically and offshore, to implement best practice credit risk policies and strategies.

The Portfolio Management team is responsible for designing, managing and monitoring the implementation of Group-wide credit risk policies, standards and concentration limits, providing expert advice on regulatory requirements relating to credit risk and providing credit risk insights to senior management and the Board.

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management, your role as Senior Manager, Portfolio Management will focus on key GFR and Group non-retail credit risk initiatives as well as contributing to the work of the Portfolio Management team.

Your role will see you lead, or be the PPP subject matter expert, on key non-retail credit risk Group initiatives or projects. Your role will also require you to identify pockets of risk and opportunities in the non-retail credit portfolio and suggest actions for mitigating risk to senior management and the Board. The role is essential in supporting the Group Chief Credit Officer and the PPP team in responding to internal and external stakeholder requests for information relating to the Group’s credit portfolios.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Using reporting and analytical tools to monitor deal quality by industry and make recommendations on appropriate appetite settings for the Group’s non-retail portfolios.

  • Leading the revision of the Group’s Security Lending Margin (SLM) Framework, through data analysis and modelling to increase granularity and risk sensitivity of SLMs.

  • Reviewing, refining and enhancing the team’s data and analytics capabilities to support regular and ad-hoc queries or deep dives in respect to current and emerging risks (e.g. sensitivity analysis), and identifying opportunities for portfolio optimisation.

  • Positively engage, and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Group to ensure Business Unit Standards, Processes and strategies are consistent with the Group Credit Policy requirements.

  • Represent PPP to provide expert advice to strategic projects impacting the credit portfolio, including projects relating to key credit risk data elements and reporting of insights.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

We have a positive and supportive culture that encourages personal interaction and does not tie you to a desk. We come together and learn from one another and we are all about being a proactive and positive function that helps the wider business thrive, with customer outcomes at the centre of our purpose.
