Overview:

In this role, you will provide FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) support for the Technology Infrastructure team and will advise senior management in an expert capacity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Technology Infrastructure team to ensure integrity of business and financial plans
  • Partner with broader FP&A teams to communicate business drivers and variances in a holistic manner
  • Manage Opex and headcount tracking and reporting for the Technology Infrastructure organization
  • Manage Capex tracking for software assets and deployed equipment across Technology infrastructure and application development domains
  • Support the development and maintenance of Technology services’ total ownership cost; provide expertise on costing methodologies and consumption of services across the enterprise.
  • Provide holistic view of performance for the Technology Infrastructure organization
  • Focus on process improvement opportunities across all Infrastructure functions, FP&A, accounting, and other partners to improve efficiency, reporting and performance.
  • Perform detailed, interpretative financial analysis utilizing complex modeling scenarios/activities with a large amount of independence. 
  • Build and maintain advanced forecasting models; work in collaboration with business groups to provide insightful analysis.
  • Conduct independent research and complex analytical projects involving modeling/forecasting to provide senior management with definitive financial trend data and advice for their use in setting and realizing profit objectives.
  • Perform complex ad hoc reporting such as acquisition analyses, cash flow projections, etc. to support management decisions.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s risk appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:

May have indirect supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience OR Associate's degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, operations or financial institutions
  • Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles in multiple disciplines including finance and accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting / finance analysis, modeling, querying and visualization tools

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Advanced degree or professional certification (i.e. CPA, CFA, etc.)           
  • Strong technical aptitude and advanced financial modeling skills.
  • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer focused, professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently, partner cross-functionally, and be self-motivated in a fast-paced and rapidly changing technology environment
  • Intense attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability
  • Self-starter - demonstrating high energy/creativity, relentless customer-focus, and entrepreneurial spirit

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
