RSM’s Center for Advanced Tax Technology (“CATT”) is a fast-paced, high-energy, collaborative environment that also happens to be one of the fastest growing tax practice groups at RSM.  The CATT team is focused on enhancing RSM US and global ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient Tax products and services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax functional, tax technical, technology development, and product management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.

JOB SUMMARY

The CATT Manager/Business Analyst’s primary responsibility is to understand business problems and opportunities for the Tax line of business in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. They perform research and analysis to devise strategies that optimize business operations and services, ensuring efficiency, risk management, and increased productivity.  They also collaborate with subject matter specialists and others across the organization to elicit, analyze, communicate, validate, and prioritize requirements into a product backlog, and, if applicable, collaborate with other product teams to ensure integration and solutions address the broader business needs and to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Works with Process Leads and Business Product Owners to translate their vision into an actionable, achievable plan.
  • Assists in measuring process-related progress (target performance vs. actual performance).
  • Identifies opportunities; makes recommendations to process lead; escalates issues; mitigates risks.
  • Produces process-related deliverables for the assigned area, including for primary products used in the process (e.g., "as-is" and "to-be" process maps; business and functional requirements; data flow).
  • Engages with Tax practitioners to understand day-in-the-life pain points to better assess opportunities and deliver process improvements
  • Leads and connects product BAs for the applications used throughout the process.
  • Collaborates with change management and technology teams to define business requirements, release notes, etc.; refines deliverables based on what is technically feasible (input from tech delivery, change management, client service).
  • Partners with tax practice subject matter experts in the development and maintenance of tax content within and between applications.
    • Translates business process needs into functional business requirements for enterprise-scale integrations development with technical delivery teams.
    • Designs, develops, and maintains low-code automations.
  • May serve as a Career Advisor including regular feedback, coaching, goal setting and training with assigned team members.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree (preference given to Business or Technology major).
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (IIBA CBAP), Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience as a Business or System Analyst (required).
  • Minimum 3 years working in Agile framework (required).
  • Proven experience delivery products throughout the product lifecycle (required).
  • Prior management experience working within a national tax role in tax software, processes, or both (preferred).

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $107,900 - $184,800

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
