We are looking for someone with:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; preferably a CPA board passer
Prior experience in a finance role preferred.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests.
Knowledge of general ledger reporting tools and systems.
Experience with MS Excel including working with Macros and other Excel add-ins. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerSuite is a plus (Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, etc)
Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently with less supervision and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and aptitude to learn.
Excels in a team environment interacting with both business and IT colleagues.
On the job you will: ·
Work closely with the business units to ensure smooth flow in the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting cycle of the Canada WAM Retail and Retirement team.
Responsible for performing accounting and reporting activities such as preparing standard and non-standard journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, bank reconciliation, analyzing financial results, and preparing various reports for both internal / external stakeholders.
Maintain control / process documentation and prepare audit requests related to internal and external audit requirements.
Participate actively in process improvement initiatives by understanding and analyzing business needs and share best practices with other team members.
Compile ad hoc accounting and analyses for BU's and serve as back up support to team members as needed.
Company Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Work Shift: Mid Shift (3pm-12am) every Monday and Month ends; Day Shift every Tuesday to Friday, except Month ends
