As the Executive Manager, Third Parties, Group Strategy and Operational Resilience you will as a leader advise the stakeholders across the Group to identify and mitigate areas of risk and make valuable recommendations on controls. Your role adds value by:

  • Overseeing the delivery of a professional and highly valued audit service to the business and the Group’s Audit & Risk Committees, including relevant subsidiary boards and committees.
  • Maintaining the skills in the team across key strategic areas including Third Parties and Operational Resilience.
  • Providing objective assurance on risk management to key customers (e.g. Group Executives and their leadership teams) to secure the financial wellbeing of the Bank’s customers.
  • Providing commercial insights to customers that makes a real difference to their business.

Our Group Audit and Assurance (GA&A) team are the internal audit function for the Group. Their primary purpose is to provide independent and objective assurance of the effectiveness of the Groups risk management, controls and governance processes.

GA&A’s Non-Financial Risk and Support Services, (NFRSS) team is responsible for auditing and reviewing CBA’s Finance, Risk Management and Support Services functions, including emerging, strategic and operational risks.

As digital technology disrupts and transforms entire industries and ways of working, GA&A is committed to keeping pace and continually reimagining themselves with the latest global best technology and innovation. Evolving customer expectations and pace of change require GA&A to support the business with new insights and risk coverage that puts customers first and to to continue to provide insightful assurance to the Board.

GA&A has increasingly embedded digital assurance into audit activities, injecting Artificial Intelligence (AI) into routine control testing and using digital tools to improve the overall experience for employees. The next phase of our transformation is enabling continuous, data driven assurance across the 3LoA.


We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire to

  • Be accountable for auditing Third Parties, Operational Resilience and Group Strategy across the Group.
  • Build a dynamic, risk-based audit plan and refresh this at least quarterly to appropriately capture key and emerging risks.
  • In line with the CBA Internal Audit Methodology, oversee effective and efficient assurance to enable complete and collaborative delivery of the audit plan, and overall CBA GA&A Plan.
  • Effectively resource audits, using specialists and professional services, where required.
  • Supervise audit delivery and approve key audit stage-gates in the audit electronic workflow system.
  • Administer audits within our audit tool, including documentation, key date fields, audit status.
  • Prepare and deliver simple, pragmatic and easy to read reporting for customers, including the Board Audit Committee and relevant subsidiary board and risk committees.
  • Support and deliver thematic Group-wide audits, including benchmarking and trends across the Group.

Other qualities you may possess include

  • Relevant industry-based knowledge and experience in Financial Services
  • Experience in providing assurance over Supplier Risk and Business Resilience.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in IT auditing, risk management strategies and techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of analytics/AI on audits.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading teams, and building strong customer relationships based on credibility and trust.
  • Demonstrated ability in deriving commercial insights.
