Job Description Summary

Position Purpose: The Non-Registered Inpatient Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician II of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services Department reports to the Manager of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services. Under indirect supervision of the EEG Coordinator or MD, the Inpatient EEG Tech II records, by means of electronic equipment, neurophysiologic potentials for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system.

Job Description

Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology; or eligible for National Board Certification; or any combination of education and experience that warrants eligibility for National Board Certification required.  Must obtain EEG certification or CNIM within 2 years of employment or 1 year of board eligibility.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology; or eligible for National Board Certification; or any combination of education and experience that warrants eligibility for National Board Certification required. Must obtain EEG certification or CNIM within 2 years of board eligibility. If hired with two years of board eligibility, must obtain EEG Registry or CNIM within one year of hire. Extensions of up to a year may be granted in certain circumstance's such as FMLA, pandemic, testing availability at the discretion of the manager and the Clinical Neurophysiology Medical Director. If Registry is attempted and not passed, you must obtain within six months. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
