We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, Engineering Lead Developer with a strong development background to help run the Bitbucket infrastructure throughout Citi.  This role will be a key part of the Developer Services organization, focusing primarily on source code management and developer experience.  You will also play a key part in the strategic adoption of GitHub enterprise. The job applicant is also expected to work closely with internal teams to run the bank.

The overall objective of this role is two-fold; to improve developers day-to-day lives by implementing an industry standard tool within Citi's developer community, whilst at the same time ensuring best practices and quality standards are being met within the existing and planned framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Source Code Management engineering team, responsible for delivering Bitbucket at Citi-scale.
  • You will be a key player in the maintenance of Bitbucket.
  • Complete evaluations and POCs of new features, and engineer those features for Citi use, ensuring they meet developer experience and security standards.
  • Collaborate with the vendor, and sector stakeholders, to deliver focused solutions that meet key outcomes.
  • Work across multiple teams to ensure highly robust and secure solutions which adhere to Citi security standards and network architecture standards.
  • Assist in the migration from Bitbucket to GitHub Enterprise.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Must have strong software development background in a mainstream programming language such as Java.  Knowledge of nodeJS expected.
  • Must have experience in GitHub & Bitbucket, preferably including use and configuration.
  • Must have strong knowledge of full software development, testing, deployment and operational lifecycle, SDLC.
  • Must have development knowledge in REST based APIs.  GraphQL experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GIT version control, including GIT workflow and branching strategies.
  • Experience of developing solutions using Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure.  Kubernetes experience a plus.
  • Experience of CI/CD pipeline tooling, i.e. Jenkins, and scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, JavaScript, Groovy.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, including tools such as JIRA or Azure Boards (Azure DevOps).
  • Experience in developing and supporting scalable products for a large user base.
  • Experience in developing Bitbucket Plugins a plus. 
  • Familiar with DevOps and GitOps practices.  Understanding of DevSecOps.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering/Developer lead role.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, personally keeps up to date with industry trends and best practice.
  • Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices.
  • Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
  • Proven track record of operational process change and improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Masters degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$113,840.00 - $170,760.00
