Job Description Summary:

We are seeking and dynamic and innovative Marketing Coordinator to join the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Trainings (PTRSAT) at KUMC. This position will oversee the development and dissemination/distribution of promotional materials and campaigns to support recruitment of students for a new hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) pathway and help support marketing of Athletic Training and PhD in Rehabilitation Science degree programs within the PTRSAT department.

Anticipated salary range $26-31/hour for full time position (anticipate 40 hours/week).

Job Description:

Job Duties

  • Evaluate needs and opportunities for outreach and marketing strategies tailored specifically for the hybrid DPT pathway, in addition to marketing initiatives for other PTRSAT degree programs.

  • Lead and develop marketing strategy, including paid and organic social media, search engine optimization, and web content, working closely with counterparts in KUMC Communications and the School of Health Professions.

  • Develop engaging promotional materials, including brochures/flyers, postcards, promotional items, event materials, and other print and digital collateral, in close collaboration with KUMC Communications.

  • Cultivate partnerships and establish connections with local and regional educational institutions that may be sources of potential students, including rural and undergraduate institutions throughout the Midwest.

  • Maintain records of marketing metrics, analytics, activities, contacts, costs, and information requests associated with marketing and recruiting activities; prepare and submit reports to ensure effective and efficient outcomes.

Work Environment: This position has potential for hybrid or remote work, based on the needs of the department. Occasional travel to partner institutions in the Midwest may be required.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Work Experience: 2 years marketing / communications experience, including experience with marketing writing, creating online content, or social media management.

Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience: Marketing or communications experience in an academic or healthcare setting.

Skills

  • Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, marketing skills.

  • Ability to lead effective presentations and coordinate marketing events.

  • Ability to produce engaging content for social media and other marketing platforms.

  • Strong project organizational skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships while providing the highest level of customer service.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
