We are seeking a remarkable litigation Lawyer to join our market leading Environment & Sustainable Development team in Melbourne

This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to:

• Work with our impressive and highly regarded ESD Partner and her high performing team on contentious land acquisition and related matters
• Work with a variety of clients, and gain exposure to major and significant Melbourne projects

This role will see the successful candidate act for public sector clients on disputed land acquisition claims and related matters within this dynamic area of law.  Led by Partner Sallyanne Everett, supported by Special Counsel, Emma Mawson, in this pivotal role you will be working on a wide range of matters across all issues relevant to land acquisition and compensation, in particular, contested claims referred to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Supreme Court of Victoria. 

You will be directly involved in all aspects of a contested claim, including drafting court documents, preparing evidence, briefing Counsel and preparing for trial. There will also be opportunity to advise on a broad range of land access and land management issues including in the delivery of major transport and infrastructure projects.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• At least 2 years strong private practice experience in litigation (experience in land acquisition and compensation law and procedure preferable but not essential)
• A strong record of academic achievement
