OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

Hartford Fund’s Investment Consultant Group (ICG) acts as a source of specialized investment knowledge that delivers analysis, education and thought leadership to our internal and external clients.

Within ICG, Investment Specialists work closely with business development teams to drive asset gathering and client service efforts with a specific focus on portfolio construction.  They will also maintain and grow ICG’s profile, serving as a subject matter expert for internal and external audiences on all Hartford Funds, our competition, capital markets and asset allocation trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Respond to client consulting requests by crafting robust, customized analyses. Types of requests include, but are not limited to, returns and holdings-based analysis, return attribution and portfolio optimization.
  • Conduct investment reviews with existing clients and prospects, including financial advisors, investment consultants, record-keepers, RIA’s and DC focused advisors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and position individual Hartford Funds replacements or complements based on client needs.
  • Build strong relationships with distribution partners and advisory clients.  Must approach the role as a business owner and be accountable for territory.
  • Collaborate across key stakeholders within Hartford Funds and its subadvisors to drive impactful messaging and marketing ideas.
  • Develop and drive a focused client service effort across multiple client segments.
  • Serve as an information resource for internal and external audiences.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years minimum experience.
  • CFA or progress towards CFA preferred.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate to drive results.
  • Extensive knowledge of the asset management industry.
  • Excellent communication and group presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Factset, Morningstar and Salesforce preferred.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$100,000 - $130,000
