The Sr. Data Visualization Analyst is responsible for implementation, operations and maintenance of the infrastructure and platforms for the PJM Enterprise data visualization dashboards and reporting. This includes working with the business experts, vendors and platform administrators for analytical systems, databases and the data warehouse. They are also responsible for: facilitating data integration, input and guidance on data structures to support reporting and analytics, report and dashboard creation, patching, security, quality control for production and support of data governance and maintenance standards. Demonstrates deep technical proficiency in data reporting, maintenance and control procedures for data collection and reporting system applications. Conducts control activities to ensure data quality and adherence to corporate data policy where applicable.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as a visualization expert in Tableau using data visualization best practices to guide team and business members in creating sustainable and scalable enterprise solutions. Including dashboards leveraging data sources.

• Lead and participate in discovery and requirement sessions to documenting business knowledge with the ability to translate into development features, stories, and tasks.

• Ability to design and develop multiple visualizations in parallel keeping stakeholders informed and delivering efforts on time.

• Understanding of how to design data sets to accommodate the needs of different visualizations.

• Utilize experience to propose and recommend new visualizations and analytics to drive business insight and data analysis.

• Develops trusting relationships with the internal and external team members while keeping a positive and collaborative mindset.

• Produce procedures and guidelines around data access including governance, control, and compliance.

• Provide support to existing dashboards in parallel with project work.

• Manage the Tableau environment. This includes: licensing, patching, user access and account management, upgrades, backup and recovery, vendor management, client and server configuration management etc.

• Assist users in performing basic and advanced analysis tasks and create new views and dashboards using existing data sources.

Characteristics & Qualifications:
Required:

• BS degree in Computer Science or at least 4 years of experience with Relevant Visualization and SQL experience analyzing data, building reports and dashboards.

• Ability to apply analytical and mathematical solutions

Preferred:

MS degree in Computer Science
Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
Experience with Alteryx and SAS Experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, Qlik etc.

Experience in end to end delivery and lifecycle of analytical business solutions
