  • Based in Bundoora
  • Casual hours commencing as soon as possible
  • Support and develop clinical skills and knowledge of Chiropractic students through the RMIT Health Clinic at University Hill, Bundoora.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality learning and teaching of the Chiropractic Discipline.

About the Role and Your Responsibilities

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences aims to provide globally recognised practical, relevant, and innovative programs, research and industry training. The Discipline of Chiropractic is located on the Bundoora Campus (West) of the University. RMIT is an industry leader in the field of complementary medicine, and we remain the only educator of chiropractic studies in Victoria. RMIT has been involved in Chiropractic education as a leader since 1992. A double bachelor's degree with great emphasis in the biomedical and health sciences underpins the educational model. Using evidence-based care and management, students are highly trained in chiropractic sciences and contemporary musculoskeletal health care. Senior students receive extensive exposure to health care practice through our state-of-the-art clinical teaching space in our multi-disciplinary clinic at University Hill, Bundoora.

To help to support this aim we require passionate casual staff to supervise student clinical practice and prepare and deliver teaching and/or marking in the Chiropractic discipline. We welcome expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to register their interest to teach and/or mark on a casual basis within the Discipline.

Classes are delivered Monday to Friday at our Bundoora (West) campus and clinical student supervision is run through our multi-disciplinary clinic at University Hill, Bundoora. The volume, nature and availability of sessional teaching will vary based on the needs of the Discipline including course offerings, timetabling and student demand.

Essential criteria

  • Qualification of Bachelor (Honours), Masters or PhD in Chiropractic. Note: Bachelor candidates can apply but must undergo Qualifications Equivalency assessment at RMIT to be eligible for this position.
  • At least 5 years industry experience in clinical practice, with teaching and/or supervisory experience highly desirable
  • Evidence of clinical supervision capabilities and the capacity to engage students in an enthusiastic, concise, engaging, and informative manner.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in academic writing, ability to grade student assessment and provide appropriate feedback
  • Demonstrable knowledge of requisite content, research, and writing skills for course/s taught within Chiropractic program.
  • Demonstrable awareness of current literature relating to clinical practice.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including both written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team.
