The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Cloud Systems Reliability Professional (Senior, Lead or Principal) to focus on Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments on the team in either Seattle, WA; North Charleston, SC; Ridley Park, PA; Plano, TX; Berkeley, MO; or Seal Beach, CA.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Integration (DI) organization, the Information Technology nervous system of the Boeing company, securely connecting global stakeholders to mission-critical data!
This position is focused on delivering business value outcomes using an Application Integration and Development platforms that includes Microservices, Application Programming Interface Management (APIM), Event-Driven Architecture and Streaming, Service Oriented Architecture, Orchestration, and more. Specifically, this position will be tasked with developing new capabilities and automation for integration platforms that enable our factories’ and aftermarket distribution centers’ core business systems to exchange data performantly and securely.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides consultation and leadership to identify, evaluate and document complex computing system requirements
Applies expertise related to the architecture, design, build and test delivery systems and components
Provides technical leadership to evaluate product usability, affordability, functionality, security and performance to assess suitability for integration into delivery system environments
Provides technical support and consultation for the implementation and usage of complex delivery systems
Provides system administration of Azure and AWS cloud environment
Provides user access control and provisions management and compliance
This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience working with distributed system principles, particularly in relation to supporting and managing tools within a streaming ecosystem (ex. Kafka)
5+ years of experience managing clusters in production environments, with a focus on ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, failover capabilities, and maintaining 24/7 reliability
5+ years of experience tracking assets, server configuration, understanding of Virtual Machine (VM) level operations such as provisioning, networking, and backup/recovery processes
5+ years of experience in installing and configuring open-source monitoring tools (Ex. Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Kibana)
5+ years of experience in managing SSL/TLS certificates and in security best practices to safe-guard data and communications across systems (authentication, encryption, etc.)
5+ years of experience in networking across on-prem Virtual Machines (VMs) and cloud environments while ensuring seamless integration and communication between services
5+ years of experience in deploying and managing distributed systems in cloud platforms (Ex. Azure, AWS, GCP)
5+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Linux versions
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
Experience with Corrective Action Plan Management
Experience with DevOps practice and CI/CD tools
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience in TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall configurations relevant to Kafka operations
Experience in analyzing and optimizing Kafka and associated infrastructure for performance ensuring minimal latency and optimal resource usage, under high throughput condition
Experience in data serialization formats (Avro, JSON, etc.)
Typical Education & Experience:
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
Expert (Level 5)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).
Principal (Level 6)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience, 24 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range for Senior: $120,700 – $174,800
Summary pay range for Expert: $144,500 – $209,300
Summary pay for Principal: $170,000 – $246,100
