About This Opportunity  

We are seeking a motivated, organised, reliable and customer focused Technical Assistant to support the effective and efficient operation of the Security Technical Office.

Reporting to the Manager, Security Technical, the role involves a wide range of office coordination, administrative and technical support activities, including processing relevant technical requests and enquiries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and facilitating the efficient and effective functioning of the office’s day to day procedures, operations, logistics and assurance of standards.

Key responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Act as a point of contact for the Security Technical Office and liaise with internal and/or external clients and stakeholders, including answering routine queries and providing advice as relevant to the role.

  • Process and assist the Security Technical team in the efficient maintenance and operation of the University's Security technical systems and systems used in the Security Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).

  • Process work orders and CRM enquiries, and, where required, escalate them to the relevant subject matter experts.

  • Produce audit trail and statistical reports from the Security technical systems as directed by the Manager, Security Technical.

  • Organise and support routine events/meetings/activities for the Security Technical Office.

About You

  • Cert IV or Diploma in Information Technology with relevant work experience; Cert II or III in Information Technology, Technical Security, or Security Equipment, with extensive relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of customer service, including effective interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Effective organisational, time management and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of Security technical software and systems

  • Experience in using and/or installing IT or Security technical equipment and systems would be considered an advantage

The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, right to work in Australia, criminal history and education checks.
