Role Overview

As a UI Engineer L5 on the PIQ/Altair team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, intuitive, and high-performing user interfaces for process mining and email automation capabilities.

You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to build enterprise-grade web applications that help users analyze process flows, monitor operational metrics, configure automation workflows, and manage email-driven business processes.

This role requires strong frontend engineering expertise, product thinking, and the ability to translate complex workflows and data-heavy use cases into simple, usable, and reliable user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications for PIQ and Altair platforms.
  • Build intuitive UI experiences for process discovery, process visualization, bottleneck analysis, workflow monitoring, and operational insights.
  • Develop user interfaces for configuring, managing, and monitoring email automation workflows.
  • Create reusable, scalable, and accessible UI components using modern frontend frameworks.
  • Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, backend services, process mining data, workflow engines, and automation services.
  • Build dashboards, reports, filters, charts, and interactive views that help users analyze process performance and automation outcomes.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to convert wireframes, prototypes, and user journeys into production-ready interfaces.
  • Partner with backend engineers and data teams to define API contracts, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Ensure frontend applications meet enterprise standards for performance, accessibility, security, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Improve application performance, responsiveness, code quality, test coverage, and developer experience.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and production support.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to frontend engineering best practices across the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in frontend/UI engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as ReactAngular, or similar.
  • Strong programming skills in TypeScriptJavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Experience building scalable, responsive, and component-driven enterprise web applications.
  • Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, routing, design systems, and reusable component patterns.
  • Experience integrating UI applications with REST APIs and backend services.
  • Experience building dashboards, data tables, charts, forms, filters, and workflow-based user interfaces.
  • Good understanding of browser performance, accessibility standards, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and frontend testing frameworks.
  • Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams and collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on process mining, workflow automation, operational analytics, or business process management platforms.
  • Experience building data-heavy interfaces with charts, graphs, timelines, process maps, Sankey diagrams, or flow-based visualizations.
  • Familiarity with email automation, notification systems, communication workflows, or template-based automation tools.
  • Experience with visualization libraries such as D3.js, Highcharts, Recharts, Chart.js, or similar.
  • Familiarity with enterprise design systems and accessibility standards.
  • Exposure to backend technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Node.js, or Python is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, code quality tools, and production monitoring.
  • Understanding of observability, logging, analytics instrumentation, and user behavior tracking.
