Under the direction of the department manager, this position is responsible for managing activities related to supporting Badger Meter’s Trade Compliance program. Areas of support are Global Customs compliance initiatives, which include the areas of Customs entry, trade programs, recordkeeping, sanctions compliance and internal auditing. This involves various facets of import and export regulatory compliance; working closely with all Badger Meter, Inc sites and US brokers to ensure compliance with various government regulations and BMI corporate policies.
Job Duties:
Support and conduct compliance reviews and approvals of exports. Assisting in the prompt response of all internal and external customer emails in shared inbox to provide timely responses for order processing.
Ensure classifications and trade data are provided timely. This includes the assignment of USML or ECCN classifications, classification under the HTS, and confirmation of country of origin information
Create and maintain Trade Compliance documents including work instructions and procedures.
Review and release export holds on customer orders in a timely manner. Providing clearance information to and assessing accuracy and timeliness of import filings from Customs broker(s).
Provide clearance information to customs brokers, as well as assess accuracy and timeliness of import filings.
Assist in the development and presentation of Trade Compliance training materials and programs.
Assist in management of US C-TPAT Program.
Up to 10% travel required
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a similar field required
3 + years of experience in trade compliance or a related field preferred
ITAR training Preferred
Export Admin Regulations training preferred
Qualifications:
Intermediate proficiency in Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint required.
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills
