Job Description:

The Billing/Collections Manager is responsible for directing the billing/collections processes for the entities they are assigned. He/She coordinates the planning, organization, and implementation of activities required to generate and collect the revenue due UPS for the services provided by UPS. This position analyzes department performance and monitors customer and employee issues that affect the prompt billing/payment of invoices. He/She reviews processes and trends and identifies, assesses, and implements process improvements and cost efficiencies. This position ensures compliance with the internal auditing of records and the monitoring and protection of UPS’s assets. The Billing/Collections Manager may be responsible for managing external vendors and/or internal UPS supervisors, specialists, and administrators in the Finance & Accounting Shared Services department. The geographic scope of this position would be focused on Europe SP and SCS Business Units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Collections Supervisors
  • Oversee day‑to‑day collections operations and improve DSO performance
  • Resolve escalations and manage complex customer issues
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and upstream accuracy
  • Prepare and deliver clear reports, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial controls

Skills & Experience

  • Strong business, financial, and process knowledge
  • Proven people management experience
  • Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong influencing and conflict‑management abilities
  • Clear communication skills with senior stakeholders
  • Relevant ERP/CRM experience (e.g., GCS, Salesforce) an advantage
  • Fluent English
  • German, French, or Italian are beneficial
  • At least 6 months employment track at current position in UPS (for internal candidates only)
