The AI & eDiscovery Automation Engineer plays a key role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining automation and AI-driven workflows that support Legal, Security, Employee Relations, and other enterprise business units. This role is responsible for building scalable tools, integrations, and data pipelines that accelerate eDiscovery processes, enables defensible investigative outcomes, and enhances the broader investigative mission of the Operational Risk Team (ORT). The ideal candidate will combine strong engineering skills with a deep understanding or willingness to learn about digital investigations, eDiscovery, and structured and unstructured data handling.

A successful candidate for this position will have:

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Proficient in scripting languages with experience in Python and PowerShell for automation tasks
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, including the ability to consume and integrate API endpoints into workflows
  • Familiarity with Linux shell environments for system administration and troubleshooting tasks
  • Experience creating and optimizing AI-driven workflows
  • Familiarity with corporate cybersecurity frameworks and tools (SIEM, EDR, DLP, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of industry-standard eDiscovery tools and processes
  • Strong organization, documentation, and reporting skills
  • General understanding of local and global privacy regulations
  • Ability to manage projects from inception through completion
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of chain of custody and evidence handling techniques and procedures
  • Ability to manage sensitive, confidential, and privileged data with the highest standards of integrity, judgment, and ethical conduct
  • Comfortable working across multiple operating systems (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, etc.)
  • Collaborate with teams to create and maintain connectors and integrations between eDiscovery platforms, SIEM/SOAR systems, data lakes, and internal tools
  • Willingness to work outside conventional hours when necessary
  • Knowledge and experience in at least three of the following areas:
    • Corporate Security Architectures and Frameworks
    • Core Automation Engineering
    • Intermediate Python Experience
    • Understanding Rest APIs
    • eDiscovery
    • Computer Forensics or Digital Investigations

Responsibilities and Tasks

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Under supervision, work with Legal, HR, Compliance, and Security to understand eDiscovery requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Design, build, and maintain automated workflows to support eDiscovery requests and related processes
  • Develop tooling to accelerate eDiscovery and investigative workflows
  • Perform defensible collection and preservation of digital evidence in accordance with industry best practices and chain of custody requirements
  • Collaborate closely with other business units providing eDiscovery assistance, and/or technical guidance when necessary
  • Stay up to date with the latest IT security trends, news, and intelligence

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Automation, Legal Support, Computer Forensics, or related field. Equivalent work-related experience will also be considered.

Experience

Experience working directly with Legal teams, Human Resources, Investigations, Compliance, or related enterprise teams.

Qualifications

Industry recognized certifications desired but not required.
