About This Job

The AVP, Early Careers Manager sits at the intersection of operational program leadership and strategic improvement — not one or the other. You’ll day-to-day provide oversight of five early careers programs (four rotational tracks and the summer internship), and partner closely with senior HR leadership to identify, propose, and implement program improvements that earn senior leadership buy-in.

You’re not setting strategy unilaterally. You’re building the analysis, making the case, and executing approved changes. This is a growth role — structured for someone who is operationally strong, intellectually curious, and ready to develop their strategic voice with experienced HR leadership behind them.

Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day leadership across all five programs: participant check-ins, rotation scheduling, onboarding, milestone tracking, and issue resolution
  • Manage offer processes, headcount, and candidate pipelines in coordination with Talent Acquisition and Early Careers Specialist
  • Lead annual summer internship from intake through conversion decisions
  • Work with senior HR leadership to identify gaps, surface opportunities, and build data-backed recommendations for enterprise leadership review and approval
  • Implement approved program changes and keep stakeholders informed throughout
  • Partner with HRBPs on performance concerns, rotation decisions, and participant development conversations
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders on program alignment — with direction from senior HR leadership
  • Build and maintain a KPI framework across all programs
  • Translate data into interpreted insights and leadership-ready summaries
  • Coordinate university partnerships, campus events, pipeline tracking, and offer process from sourcing to close
  • Refine the Axos culture-fit profile and target school strategy in partnership with HR leadership
  • Provide mentorship and program leadership to an Early Careers Specialist: set expectations, provide feedback, delegate effectively, and develop their capabilities over time
  • Identify and flag repetitive processes for simplification or automation; implement approved improvements using Symba, Workday, and available tools

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • 4–6 years in early careers, university recruiting, rotational programs, or talent program coordination. Operationally strong with a readiness to grow into strategic HR work with leadership guidance.
  • Hands-on program operations experience: scheduling, participant management, stakeholder coordination, issue resolution
  • Ability to build clear, data-supported summaries and recommendations for a senior audience
  • Experience tracking program outcomes (retention, satisfaction, conversion, or similar) and turning them into insights
  • Strong campus recruiting knowledge: university relationships, pipelines, offer process
  • Comfortable in a collaborative environment
  • Proficiency with ATS or program platforms (Workday, Symba, or comparable)
  • Familiarity with rotational program design: competency frameworks, progression milestones highly preferred
  • Experience mentoring or supervising a junior team member

Axos Employee Benefits May Include:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance

  • Paid Sick Leave, 3 weeks’ Vacation, and Holidays (about 11 a year)

  • HSA or FSA account and other voluntary benefits

  • 401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with Employer Match Program and 529 Savings Plan

  • Employee Mortgage Loan Program and free access to an Axos Bank Account with Self-Directed Trading
