The Information Security Governance Analyst will be part of the Security, Resilience & Protection (SRP) team, which ensures that our business operations align with keeping our people and data safe. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career within information security. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of abrdn’s Security & IT Governance framework, providing oversight to relevant teams in line with global security standards, such as NIST, and global regulatory expectations.

About the role

Working within the Governance & Controls team, you will support the development and implementation of abrdn’s Security & IT Governance framework, providing oversight to relevant teams in line with global security standards, such as NIST, and global regulatory expectations to protect abrdn’s customers and clients. You will maintain the Information Technology (IT) policies as part of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, providing guidance and support for development areas as required. Additionally, you will contribute to and assist in shaping the design of comprehensive reporting and metrics across all Security & IT domains, ensuring prompt and pertinent visibility and reporting for senior management and boards. Collaborating as a member of SRP, you will drive continuous improvement and maintain a focus on risk reduction, operating consistently with recognised professional practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance Framework: Support the development and implementation of abrdn’s Security & IT Governance framework, ensuring alignment with global security standards and regulatory expectations.

  • Policy Maintenance: Maintain the Information Technology (IT) policies as part of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

  • Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support for development areas as required.

  • Reporting and Metrics: Assist in shaping the design of comprehensive reporting and metrics across all Security & IT domains, ensuring prompt and relevant visibility for senior management and boards.

  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the SRP team to drive continuous improvement and maintain a focus on risk reduction.

The technology and governance specialist will possess the following:

  • Understanding of Practices: An understanding of IT, Security, and associated practices in large organisations.

  • Risk Management: An understanding of risk management practices and their application in financial services organisations.

  • Regulatory Impact: Knowledge of the impact of regulation on security and resilience matters.
