We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Risk360 team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Software Engineering, you'll be responsible for:

  • Technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, guiding them in best practices and design decisions.
  • Design and development of data processing pipelines to handle data ingestion, transformation, and analysis to derive actionable insights for risk quantification.
  • Product features related to data transformations, enrichment, and analytics.
  • Establishing monitoring mechanisms to track the data platform's performance and health and define maintenance procedures to keep it running smoothly. You will seize every opportunity to refactor code in the interests of maintainability and reusability.
  • Collaborate and work with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers, and other backend teams.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with software development and enterprise data warehouse solutions, with 2+ years of experience writing unit tests, stubs, and mocks in a TDD environment using JUnit, REST Assured, or TestNG.
  • Proficient in Core Java, Concurrency and Distributed Computing.
  • Proficient in SQL, including query planning and optimizing queries to analyze and improve performance.
  • Proficient in cloud infrastructure services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Ability to write code that can perform efficiently in a big data setup, which will scale to handle large volumes of data efficiently, considering the potential growth of data over time.
  • Strong knowledge of various DBMS systems, including NoSQL architectures and design principles.
  • Working knowledge of GraphQL and understanding of security compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in container (ex: docker) and container orchestration (ex: kubernetes) based environments.
  • Experience tuning JVM for optimal application performance.
  • MS in Computer Science or related field.

This is an office based role in either our San Jose, CA or Alpharetta, GA office (hybrid environment).

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$122,500$175,000 USD
