Overview

We are seeking a Full-Stack Java Development Engineer with strong experience in Spring Boot, solid exposure to financial services (especially payments), and knowledge of web services and OpenAPI standards. The position focuses on the payment pre-processing layer, enabling secure and efficient connectivity between debtor banks, SWIFT back-end data services, and intermediary providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Build and maintain RESTful services, SOAP web services, and OpenAPI-defined interfaces.
• Implement and optimize components within the payment pre-processing platform, including validation, routing, and data enrichment.
• Integrate solutions with banks, SWIFT services, and third-party actors.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of API contracts, technical documentation, and data models.
• Collaborate with architecture and product teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant designs.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, testing, and troubleshooting across the full technology stack.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–7 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP web services, OpenAPI/Swagger, and API-first development.
• Full-stack development capabilities (Java back-end + modern front-end technologies such as Angular or React).
• Experience in the financial sector, ideally with payment flows, transaction processing, or banking integration.
• Good understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka).
• High level of English, spoken and written.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design innovative solutions.

Preferred / Optional Qualifications

• Experience with AWS architecture and cloud-native development.
• Knowledge of SWIFT standards, payments and Swift platform.
• Familiarity with iframes, Web Components, and embedding technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and security practices relevant to financial systems.

• Design, develop, test, install and support programs/systems in line with agreed requirements.
• Assist with the analysis of requirements and the development of recommendations as to the systems approach to follow.
• Prepare specifications, codes, tests, deliverables, acceptance criteria, time frames, etc. . . and prepare and study the technical feasibility and estimates of the proposed systems solutions.
• Analyze the problems, develop and propose solutions to more senior team members.
• Provide technical assistance to other SWIFT colleagues and provide guidance to more junior team members in their daily work.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and prepare and give presentations to customers on systems.
• Provide timing/scheduling estimates to project lead and propose corrective actions to timelines when necessary.
