Position: Product Owner I, Technology Product Management 

 

Organization Background: 

The Enterprise Technology Product Management organization plays a pivotal role in unifying and energizing the World Fuel enterprise by driving innovation and operational excellence. With a strong focus on customer-centric, strategically aligned solutions, the team is dedicated to delivering impactful outcomes and fostering sustainable growth. 

 

The product management function is responsible for defining and delivering both customer-facing and internal technology products. The team partners closely with business, technology, and functional leaders to take products from ideation through strategy, roadmap development, delivery execution, and ongoing lifecycle management. 

 

Position Summary: 

The Product Owner I is responsible for supporting backlog management and delivery for a single product, focusing on requirement definition, refinement, and execution support. This role ensures alignment with product priorities and delivery timelines. 

 

The Product Owner I operates with guidance, developing Agile and delivery management capabilities while contributing to successful execution. This role requires attention to detail, strong organization, and foundational stakeholder collaboration skills. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Backlog Support & Requirement Definition 

  • Support backlog management and prioritization activities 

  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria with guidance 

  • Ensure backlog items are ready for delivery 

Delivery Execution Support 

  • Support Agile delivery by clarifying requirements and resolving questions 

  • Track delivery progress and ensure alignment to expectations 

  • Assist in validating completed work against requirements 

Stakeholder Communication

  • Support stakeholder engagement and requirement gathering 

  • Provide updates on backlog status and delivery progress 

  • Document decisions, requirements, and updates 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with delivery teams to support execution 

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and team coordination 

  • Assist in ensuring alignment across teams 

Customer Focus & Continuous Improvement 

  • Engage with users to understand needs and support improvements 

  • Assist in incorporating feedback into backlog refinement 

  • Support continuous improvement of delivery processes 

 

KPIs / Success Metrics: 

  • Backlog readiness and quality of user stories  

  • Requirements clarity and reduced rework  

  • Support of sprint delivery success  

  • Stakeholder satisfaction with execution support  

  • Accuracy of documentation and updates 

 

Experience: 

  • 3–5 years of experience in product, business analysis, or related roles  

  • Experience working with Agile teams preferred 

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
