Our Technical Authoring team provides clear, accurate and user-friendly documentation for complex engineering products across Ultra Maritime’s products, everything from hardware to software. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and support teams to ensure technical information is communicated effectively to end-users and stakeholders.
You will be expected to be flexible and work across a number of different projects. This role will involve engagement with projects, and requires someone who is not afraid to get stuck into the detail, whilst understanding the considerations of cost, quality and schedule.
This role involves a keen eye for detail, and may include the creation of technical drawings.

You will work with our team to ensure that our products have exceptional technical publications and manuals.
Depending on the experience of the author, both author and senior author roles are available.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the mentorship of the head of Support or a Supportability Line Manager, you will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and support of technical publications within the organisation.

There will be opportunities to support Mechanical Engineering, and within Configuration Management, as part of this role and as the demand occurs. We are keen for our technical authors to engage and develop skills across engineering as part of their role.

Security Requirements
This role requires you to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard Check (BPSS) as a minimum and some roles will require further national security vetting checks.
In line with Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
