Necessary Duties:
- Supports and builds the Salt Lake Bouldering Project community.
- Offers personalized one-on-one training and creative and safe small-group training.
- Willingness to teach group fitness classes is a plus.
- Demonstrates clear explanations of exercise material using proper form and technique.
- Develops encouraging yet professional relationships with members and provides motivational support and guidance.
- Follows up with each client promptly and on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Operates all equipment promptly and adequately reports any problems.
- Performs consultations with new members.
- Follows all policies, emergency protocols, rules, regulations, and procedures
- Attends necessary training and meetings as scheduled.
- Participates in community events
Requirements:
- A four-year degree in exercise science or a related field is preferred.
- Nationally accredited certification (preferred: NSCA, ACSM, NASM)
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required
- Possess an outgoing, knowledgeable, encouraging, and driven personality as well as an inclusive attitude
Assess the client's fitness levels and provide and monitor thoughtful, safe workouts to achieve the client's goals.
- Ability to provide accurate cueing and observe participants using proper exercise techniques, noting that everyone is different.
- Ability to create and monitor safe and effective exercise programs for individuals, as well as recognize members's potential and limitations
- Must be flexible, reliable, dependable, honest, and diligent
- Possess mature judgment, sound decision-making, transparent and effective communication skills
- Is a team player, even when only working one-on-one with a client. 
- Must be observant, safety conscious, and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
