Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Software Lead to join the Ridley Park, PA campus where we work on multiple Boeing programs, including V-22, H-47, Enterprise DevSecOps, and others. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. This lead engineer will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of tools and process improvements, as well as maintaining and ensuring proper process across the team. Leadership and a drive to continuously improve our tools and products are a must. The successful candidate will be able to motivate others, and work across team leads and multiple managers to deploy a vision.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. This includes creating and executing to roadmaps
  • Drive modernization and consistency across programs
  • Create plans and execute to drive toward Boeing Software Factory
  • Create training and influence stakeholders and users, both on specific products/aircraft and Software Engineering process
  • Update processes to improve and drive efficiencies
  • Develop and steer team training plans to ensure successful deployment and ongoing use of initiatives
  • Position may include advising and leading SOI audits from the SW engineering team perspective
  • Leverage Boeing best practices and enterprise initiatives
  • Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Coding Challenge:

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.  Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 14+ years of experience with full life-cycle Software development, modeling, simulation, testing, and/or analysis using C, C++, C#, Python, Java, Ada, or Linux
  • 10+ years of experience with real-time software development
  • 2+ years’ experience leading a team
  • Experience using and deploying automation, continuous integration, and other DevSecOps tools and techniques

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 10+ years working in Agile software development framework
  • 5+ years leading a team
  • Experience using and deploying automation, continuous integration, and other DevSecOps tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with DO-178C requirements is preferred
  • Proven examples of implementing process or tool enhancements to benefit team-based software development, efficiency, and/or enhanced product technical outcome

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Travel: up to 10%

Summary Pay Range: $167,450 - $226,550
