About the Role:
At Sun Life, external material reviews are more than just a compliance checkpoint and validation control. They are a shared responsibility - one that empowers all employees to protect our Brand, uphold our reputation, and deliver a consistent, high-quality experience to our clients.
As a Specialist in Brand Governance and Marketing Operations, you will be responsible for upholding strong governance practices in our material review process and assisting with various marketing operations. You will report to the Director of Canadian Brand Strategy and Management and work closely with your counterpart. Your keen attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to collaborate across teams will help ensure we meet the highest standards and ensure smooth execution with operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance of External Material Reviews
Monitor daily activities to ensure seamless operations and a hassle-free experience for everyone involved.
Regularly audit final materials to ensure all expert-requested changes were made.
Coordinate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to facilitate efficient material review and approval.
Deliver ad hoc training and guidance to employees on the review process and best practices.
Develop and refine procedures, guides and resources for the material review process as necessary.
Update the Wrike intake form and process as necessary.
Provide guidance to users on onboarding and troubleshooting related to the material review Wrike intake form.
Actively provide useful tips and advice to the community to ensure we meet requirements, stay compliant, and navigate the process smoothly.
Provide quarterly reports on the overall review process and key performance indicators, including recommendations for optimizations and solutions to improve workflow efficiency.
Initiate the escalation procedure as necessary, engaging relevant leaders and subject matter experts.
Submit the necessary information to the internal audit team and develop an action plan to resolve any identified gaps.
Support of Marketing Operations
Execute the day-to-day management of sponsorships hosting program(s), ensuring a seamless, efficient, and memorable experience for Sun Life Business Units (BUs) and their clients.
Manage the centralized inbox daily and acknowledge all requests with an SLA of 1 business day.
Act as the point of contact for all program-related inquiries.
Liaise with external partners by managing hosting requests and tracking follow-ups.
Facilitate internal Business Development (BD) requests and ensure smooth communication between external partner(s) and BD contacts to support event opportunities.
Maintain event tracking log along with other documentation to monitor status of events, attendance, asset types, etc.
Support in updating presentations, documents and other administrative materials.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or a related field.
3+ years’ experience in marketing operations, process governance, material review, or similar roles.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
Ability to multitask and work independently within a collaborative team environment.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
Adaptability to evolving business needs and priorities.
Proven ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships.
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
Familiarity with Wrike or similar project management platforms.
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
