The Walmart Connect Brand and Enterprise Sales Marketing team is looking for a B2B event expert to lead our event marketing practice.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
The ideal candidate will have experience working on the sell-side of the media industry, managing a team of event planners, building, documenting, and presenting event strategy to executives, managing large and complex budgets, executing activations at industry conferences, and producing multi-day conferences for sales teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop annual events strategy with an eye towards optimizing the number and scale of our events with the optimal budgets delivering set forth business goals
Oversee the execution of ~15-20 annual event traveling to attend the most high-profile activations to provide real-time guidance to the team.
Guide your team in designing event activations that drive desired business objectives
Building a learning and innovation agenda, staying the course on events that work and drive results but continually seeking to optimize and innovate
Lead team in our mission to delivery best-in-class events that are designed to:
Position the Walmart Connect brand as a top tier player in the media Industry and a must buy for advertisers
Support the sales team with opportunities to deepen relationships through social engagements and drive revenue through facilitation of top-to-top meetings
Support the corporate communications team in logistical execution of their speaking engagements built to drive our perception as a thought leader.
Empower and motivate our associates through annual gatherings
Manage 5+ direct reports -- leading a healthy and positive team culture and implementing plans to coach, motivate and develop individuals on the team—with clarity on personal goals and growth plans.
Create and document and lead a process / way of working that maximize efficiencies and ensures no details are missed and events are delivered with operational excellence.
Manage all event costs and budgets, meet regularly with leadership and finance to approve plans. Oversee on-time contracting and payment of all related invoices
Build clear metrics to measure the impact of events and work with internal teams and our agencies to track the performance of key event metrics
Present end of quarter results to leadership and drive consensus on sunsetting or renewing each event.
Cultivate key relationships for crucial collaboration-- aligning multiple different internal working team members, WMC leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver on Walmart Connect event strategy
REQUIREMENTS
10-15 years’ experience in event management (strategic and tactical)
Experience leading a team
Strategic problem solver to build a strong vision and strategy for our events
Excellent executional oversight to think ahead and anticipate all moving parts to deliver excellence on the day of events
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to partner cross-functionally, building healthy relationships across an organization
A proven problem-solver who can identify the root cause of challenge and proactively work to solve
Experience in media industry
Must be able to travel

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
