Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility
The primary responsibility of Legal & Compliance Manager, Israel, will be to provide legal advice, protect the legal interests and uphold the ethical business standards of all company businesses and divisions in Israel, and to take a strong interest in understanding and implementing the company compliance standards. This position is based in Hod-Hasharon, and reports into the Legal sand Compliance Director (Russia & Israel). In addition, as a member of the EEMEA Legal and Compliance team, the incumbent needs to work, upon respective request/guide of Legal and Compliance Director (Russia & Israel), in conjunction with other team members, as well as other colleagues from the global Legal and Compliance organization (e.g. Office of Ethics, Global Investigations), external local counsel and relevant headquarters and subsidiary staff and functional groups, as needed.
Primary Activities – Accountabilities, Supervision
Primary activities include, but are not limited to:
- Being the primary support for the Legal and Compliance Director (Russia & Israel) for guiding, monitoring and assisting with all activities across Israel’ business that require legal input and supporting Legal and Compliance Director (Russia & Israel) in all corporate, regional and local legal mandates and requirements, with quality, collaborative and timely advice and oversight given to clients by both internal and external legal resources.
- Upon respective direction/oversight of Legal and Compliance Director (Russia & Israel), collaborate with and provide counsel/support to the BPOs, and other divisional compliance personnel in the performance of their tasks and enable effective monitoring of compliance and related matters on behalf of the company.
- Upon respective direction/oversight of Legal and Compliance Director (Russia & Israel), support the legal & compliance needs of all key stakeholders through high quality and pertinent legal advice and compliance input to ensure that the company complies with all legislative and regulatory requirements including privacy, anti-corruption/anti-bribery, fair competition, and trade practice legislations, etc. as well as the company policies, compliance standards and local industry guidelines. - Assist with the interpretation of HQ's and Company Standards, Corporate Policies and Procedures (“Policies”) and help ensure compliance by local subsidiaries.
- Keep local management apprised of significant legal and corporate developments and trends in relation to Company business and activities.
- Review communication with external parties, including the government, industry association and the public on issues such as healthcare legislations/policies, compliance standards and disease awareness campaigns.
- Support the planning/implementation/monitoring of corporate strategies to effect entity planning and restructuring as needed.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications required:
Qualifications
- Admitted to practice law in Israel.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience
Skills
- Language proficiency with Hebrew & English required.
- Strong translation skills for legal and contractual documents between Hebrew and English languages
- Ability to identify key issues and consistently apply a high standard of integrity, professionalism, legal knowledge and expertise and business ethics.
- Ability to provide practical, commercially focused, and value-added legal advice.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability and interest to learn about compliance, to critically review and advise on business programs and procedures in accordance with both legal requirements and corporate policies and standards.
- Highly developed technical and research skills, good attention for details and ability to perform investigations and interviews effectively.
- Ability to think broadly with the best interest of the entire organization in mind.

Knowledge & Experience
The following experience is required:
- In-house legal and compliance experience with a multi-national pharmaceutical or medical devices company.
- Commercial practice experience in a top tier law firm is a plus.
The following experience is preferred:
- Experience in advising the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in providing general commercial, regulatory, including competition, marketing, compliance and/or intellectual property advice. Some experience in commercial litigation Privacy and general employment law desirable
- Familiarity with the US FCPA, the UK Bribery Act and the pharma industry code would be advantageous.
