Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide advice to internal customers (functions or businesses) in various Treasury areas. Each day, you will identify and suggest process improvement opportunities to minimize and reduce risks. You will also showcase your expertise by implementing appropriate financial instruments and transactions required to manage the risk.

We are strengthening the Global Trade Finance Development Center (TFDC) as Center of Expertise (CoE) for Export & Trade Finance processes in Kraków. We are looking for talented and self -driven candidates who would like to contribute to this event and be part of this great undertaking.

This role is contributing to the Trade Finance Delivery Center in Americas, APAC or EMEA region. Main stakeholders are banks and internal ABB project managers from various businesses.


Your main accountabilities

  • Act as a senior member of the Export & Trade Finance team, independently managing end-to-end processing of guarantees and counter-guarantees
  • Handle complex, non-standard, and high-risk trade finance transactions in full compliance with internal policies, banking requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Provide expert operational support and guidance to business units on trade finance and treasury-related matters
  • Serve as a key contact for core banks, leading operational discussions and managing escalations when required
  • Act as a subject-matter expert within the team, supporting process-related queries and sharing knowledge with less experienced colleagues
  • Identify process inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities, and actively drive or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in treasury and transformation projects, supporting design, implementation, and change management activities
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and risk awareness while promoting a culture of integrity, collaboration, and high-quality service delivery

Qualifications for the role

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Treasury, especially administration and handling of Trade Finance instruments
  • University degree in Finance, Banking, Treasury Management, Economics, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of Trade Finance instruments; knowledge of URDG and UCP is considered an advantage
  • Proficient user of MS Excel and standard Windows applications
  • Strong communication skills with experience in daily cooperation with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. banks, business units)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken
  • Valid work permit / visa allowing employment in Poland;
  • Additional languages: Chinese, German, Turkish are considered as an asset
