Job Description SummaryJob Description:
Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor and trailer equipment
Oversee recall campaigns and sign off on completion
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ABS system and specialized equipment including refrigerated units, lift gates, and frame alignment
May onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks
Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard
Operate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; properly attend to service truck parts inventory
Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures
Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairs
Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment
Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water tight
Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections sign off
Shift Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday / 7:00am - 5:30pm

Qualifications:
18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent AND demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines
Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed
DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
Welding certification
Forklift certification and experience
EPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration License
Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
