Job Description​

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke's on the Plaza is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Scheduling coordinator for our EP & Cath Labs.

The Shift:

This is a full-time day shift position working Monday through Friday work 4 9 hour shifts per week. The one day off per week is organized between team members.

NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS

The Work:

  • Position requires a Registered Nurse with strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and advanced clinical knowledge; strong skills in critical thinking, assessment of patients, patient education and communication with patients and the health care team.
  • CV Schedulers complete all of the Cath lab and EP lab scheduling for across the system
  • The Clinical Scheduling Coordinator RN assesses; develops a scheduling plan; reviews that plan with the multi-disciplinary team and implements the plan for scheduling: ensuring that the patient is scheduled at the correct location, and the correct day and time and provider with the required resources available.
  • Serves as an agent to improve customer service and provide a layer of safety throughout the scheduling process.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately.
  • Responsible for all training of new employees in this area.
  • Responsible for customer service and safety in scheduling for CV procedures throughout SLHS.
  • Assesses, develops a scheduling plan, reviews that plan with the multidisciplinary team and implements the plan for scheduling, ensuring the patient is scheduled at the correct location, and the correct day and time.
  • Utilizes the Appropriate Use Criteria for all imaging modalities for the selection of the correct imaging study.
  • Participates regularly in the evaluation of the scheduling process to ensure the patient is placed in the safest environment possible.
  • Evaluates resources needed to safely perform the designated procedure requiring advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Previous CV or EP nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Must be detail orientated, able to multi-task, be organized and have strong chart review skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including physicians
  • Self directed and functions independently.
  • The Clinical Scheduling Coordinator RN participates regularly in the evaluation of the scheduling process to ensure that the patient is placed in the safest environment possible.

  • Once full orientation process is completed, the position is also responsible for training new employees in the scheduling area.

Position is responsible for scheduling Cardiovascular Lab procedures at Saint Luke's Hospital; Saint Luke's East Hospital; Saint Luke's North Hospital and Saint Luke's South Hospital. Position is 4 days per week during the Mon- Friday time period, 8 am - 5:30 pm.
