WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will partner closely with the Consumer Merchants responsible for the assortment that will serve the full EMEA marketplace in close partnership with our NDDC team who buy and plan for Nike Direct Digital Commerce and the most important stores in the Key Cities across the region. As well as Consumer Merchants from the Men’s, Kids and RNWY Team. You will also work with Partner Merchants that drive the assortment strategies for the Marketplace Partner Units. Another very important point of contact will be the Global Product Merchandising Team, as well as the EMEA Geo Express Lane team, with whom you will finalize the product line for the consumers in EMEA!
Besides merchants, you will interact with cross-functional partners such as Planning, Marketing and Insights & Analytics on a regular basis. You will collaborate with these partners in order to ensure the right insights, trends, and opportunities are addressed with speed at the right time. In this role you will be responsible for complex stakeholder management in a very dynamic X-functional environment.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a passionate and experienced world class merchant who is motivated to take Nike Women’s Lifestyle (Sportswear) Footwear to the next level! You will lead and drive the seasonal process and business for Women’s Lifestyle Footwear, all the way from future line-planning to seasonal execution. The goal of the function is to serve the consumer in EMEA with an amazing product line-up, available where they shop, at the right time, and the right price.
The priority of your work will be to build and manage the EMEA product line plan with an editor’s mentality, ensuring the consumer has clear and compelling choice and we offer differentiation and segmentation across the marketplace. So, in short – we are looking for an experienced Merchandising talent that is pro-active, flexible, collaborative, strategic and has a clear understanding of the lifestyle consumer needs with a sharp eye for product and loves to drive a smooth process! To be successful in this job you bring your expertise in art skills to the forefront in combination with an excellent foundation of skills in science to influence your decision making.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in merchandising and/or product creation demonstrating a high level of product, retail and merchandising acumen.
Strong teammate and ability to effectively collaborate with peers with a strong track record in stakeholder management, cross functional partners and senior management on all aspects of the business within a complex matrix organizational set-up.
Experience with translating observations of trends, color, materials, and fashion into compelling product and assortment recommendations.
A clear understanding of the EMEA consumer and marketplace, with an advanced skill sets in art with a balanced foundation in science.
Ability to deliver results against tight and complex timelines with competing priorities.
Strong business orientation, analytical approach and retail math.
Advanced influencing, communication & storytelling skills.
Positive, problem-solving and proactive attitude with high level of accountability.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you will consequently execute the EMEA Women’s Lifestyle Footwear Merchandising Strategy on a seasonal basis. This includes, amongst others, a clear vision on segmentation, meaningful account differentiation, and the ability to cultivate innovation that will bring Nike Women’s Lifestyle footwear business in the position to drive trend leadership. As a Lead Merchant, you will manage the Women’s Lifestyle Footwear Business all the way from initial concept to seasonal execution throughout the seasonal CODE process and build and maintain the EMEA product line plan based on consumer-led marketplace capacity information, being quick to respond to shifts in market trends by adapting and adjusting seasons in flight.
You will be responsible for regularly feeding the Global Teams and the GEL Team with the latest consumer and marketplace insights to influence future line-planning, as well as shepherding the seasons thru the process from concept to seasonal execution in the geography. Additionally, the current state of the business offers plenty of opportunities to strengthen your strategic skills with the ability to contribute to several key strategic project work streams that will help create the next wave of growth for Women’s Sportswear footwear!
