The Director of the Visitor Center is the architect of the “aha” moment for a visiting prospective student and family. Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Director plays an integral role in providing the first on-campus experience for many prospective students and their families. The Director provides daily management of the Visitor Center, campus tours and serves as the liaison for the Enrollment Management Division in planning events. The Director also leads the Student Ambassador Program. This is a highly visible position that collaborates closely with other leaders in the Enrollment Management Division.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Develop a rich campus tour experience that highlights the strengths of the College and is distinctly memorable to visitors.
  • Ensure the Visitor Center is in impeccable condition – including food and beverage amenities, marketing materials and technology.
  • Schedule staffing appropriate for the anticipated number of visitors.
  • Collaborate with other campus partners to develop an awe-inspiring experience within the Visitor Center that reflects the strengths of the academic programs.
  • Manage the scheduling of campus visitors and collaborate with other campus units to provide essential services in a timely manner.
  • Meet with campus visitors and highlight the attributes of the institution in relation to the needs of the guests.
  • Communicate with visitors following their visit to assist with admission funnel management and quality assurance.
  • Enhance the Student Ambassador program, making it a highly competitive and desirable student employment position.
  • Ensure staff are able to provide accurate information on the programs and services at the College.
  • Incorporate best practices in relation to a campus visit center.
  • Provide support to other Enrollment Management Division offices as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field required.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or college admissions office or with proven event planning experience.
  • Experience in set production or highly engaging guest experiences preferred.
  • Experience in a higher-education setting preferred.

  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to manage data in a technological platform such as a CRM.
  • Experience in managing large-scale visit programs and events.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Adept at collaborating in a matrix environment.
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate across functional teams while demonstrating initiative and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.

  • Ability to move/lift light objects such as chairs and boxes occasionally

  • Work on Saturdays as needed for special enrollment events.

  • Office setting with infrequent travel

IN-OFFICE EXPECTATIONS
This position requires an in-person presence on the Boston Campus during the work week.

Compensation: $82,150.00 - $102,650.00 annually, commensurate with experience.
