Job Summary:

Under the direction of the PMO leadership team, the PMO Operations Support Manager is responsible for executing critical operational functions in support of the PMO’s standard operational model.  Key activities include coordinating and supporting PMO demand and capacity management, staffing and resource on-boarding, reporting, operationalizing new PMO processes and tools, and participating in internal improvement projects.   

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor PMO resource demand forecasts and reconcile with PMO resource requests.
  • Assess capacity to meet resource demand and assist PMO leaders in optimizing existing headcount and identifying needs for additional staff.
  • Coordinate the staffing requisition process – e.g., identify resource level, tailor job PM descriptions to reflect specific requests, and secure required approvals.
  • Partner with DXC recruiters and PMO leaders to drive the candidate screening and selection process – e.g., facilitate kickoff with recruiter, screen potential candidates, conduct preliminary interviews, recommend top candidates, and coordinate second level interviews with the hiring manager.
  • Coordinate or execute the standard on-boarding process for new PMO resources
  • Coordinate the PMO resource engagement and knowledge transfer process with customer accounts, COEs, offering teams, etc.
  • Prepare PMO reports – e.g., portfolio views of active projects, demand and capacity summaries, etc.
  • Support deployment of new processes and tools within the PMO operational model
  • Participate in PMO continuous improvement projects and coordinate or support action plans

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in project management roles, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar PMO operational role
  • Hands-on experience applying PMO operational best practices in an IT environment
  • Advanced understanding of project management methodologies and tools
  • Ability and maturity to serve as a delegate on behalf of the PMO leadership team to manage HR related tasks and confidential information

Other Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with HR policies and practices as a manager or relevant role strongly preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
