Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist Manages the company’s regional efforts to ensure regulatory compliance for all aspects of importing or exporting, ensuring trade regulatory compliance

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Responsible for a part of the import and/or export operations
    • Customs clearances
    • Vendor Management – coordinate and manage KPIs with carriers and freight forwarders, transporters, CFS, survey agencies etc.
  • Responsible for a part of the Customs & Trade Compliance framework
    • Understand legal framework of customs and allied regulations, import and export policy and compliances.
    • Improve, implement, and keep updated all work processes.
    • Keep watch on regulatory/policy changes and implement with minimum/no business disruptions while meeting 100% compliance.
    • Supports internal, statutory, and regulatory audits.
  • Responsible for a part of the Improvement project portfolio
    • Support global projects and improvement initiatives.
    • Lead local projects for successful delivery on cost/service/digitalization
  • Responsible for supporting overall functional goals/priorities/initiatives

Experience

  • University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Economics
  • 3-5 years of experience preferably in Supply Chain operations/improvement/analytics
  • Following would be added advantages
    • Experience in SC data analytics & automation
    • Additional certifications in International Trade
    • SAP (SDMM) operating knowledge
    • GTS (Global Trade Services) knowledge
    • Prior experience in interfacing with govt. organizations
  • Competencies: Interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs and single work process activities, teamwork, taking initiative, problem solving skills, technical proficiency to use computer applications and preferably data analytics.
  • Possesses good commercial acumen to drive businesses towards decision making with respect to material flows with optimum utilization of government benefits.
  • Possesses good financial acumen to identify cost saving opportunities and improvement ideas.
