Job Summary:

What part will you play?

  • The GAF Energy Manufacturing organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced OT Site Engineer, who will be the subject matter expert in our Manufacturing Operating Technology systems and architecture. 

  • With outstanding manufacturing and OT experience, you will be a critical contributor in the overall OT architecture and processes, including delivery and maintenance of our MES and Warehouse management system, and the interfacing of these systems with the PLM (Arena) and ERP (Peoplesoft). 

  • The ideal candidate will have a talent for driving results and thrive in the space between startup and explosive growth.

  • This role will report to the Director, Manufacturing Engineering.

  • This will be 100% onsite.

What will you do?

  • Be the subject matter expert on the system architecture and functionalities of the MES systems and integration with factory hardware.

  • Be the on-site point of contact and own the efficiency and functionalities of the MES working directly with vendors to troubleshoot issues related to production hardware, data availability/reporting/business intelligence, etc.

  • Integrate new equipment and metrology tools into the factory SCADA and MES systems.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, charts, alerts, and other data tools to empower the manufacturing team.

  • Be the on-site supporting point of contact for all integration/interfacing issues between the MES, ERP, and quality systems.

  • Collaborate with quality, logistics, production, and the training manager to create process SOPs on how to best use MES to develop material and conduct training sessions.

  • Build collaborative and effective working relationships with factory leadership, Supply Chain, R&D, and Finance organizations to deliver accurate reporting and necessary business intelligence.

  • Continue to analyze, improve, and deploy the Manufacturing OT ecosystem, especially to implement at future factories.

  • Foster an environment that looks for opportunities to improve business processes such that they truly add value.

What do we require from you?

  • BS in a technical field (Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent) and 7 years of work experience in manufacturing OT. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience supporting manufacturing line and/or factory bring-up for a discrete production process involving electronic components and subassemblies.

  • Basic PLC programming skills with Siemens or Allen Bradley systems.

  • Advanced understanding of industrial networking, OPC routers, and API transactions.

  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL server queries and basic administration.

  • Experience in personally delivering large-scale and highly complex initiatives under pressure.

  • Comfort with navigation across diverse opinions to drive towards consensus.

  • Skilled in managing at both detailed and strategic levels.

  • Ability to take ambiguity in problem definition and drive towards clarity.

  • Resiliency and ability to adapt to a fast-pace, often with dynamic priorities.
