What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for set up and managing payroll and operational functions for Amgen India. This role ensures that all staff are compensated accurately and on time, and that the operational activities align with Amgen’s strategic goals. The role requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills..
- Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll for all staff. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Prepare and review payroll reports and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and internal policies. Handle staff queries related to payroll, deductions, and benefits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational systems, payroll software and procedures to ensure efficiency in payroll and compliance processes, eliminating errors. Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of various operations to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures. Liaise with other departments to ensure compliance and alignment with overall HR goals. Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement process for payroll and compliance processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations concerning staff payroll and benefits. Prepare and present reports on payroll metrics to senior management. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and legal purposes.
- Supervise, train and mentor payroll staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to payroll team members.
- Develop and manage budget, financial forecasts and vendor spend for payroll activities. Work closely with the Finance team to ensure payroll expenses are correctly accounted for.
- Find opportunities for process improvements and implement standard methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What we expect of you
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree OR
- Master’s degree and 4 to 6 years of payroll management and operations experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 to 8 years of payroll management and operations experience OR
- Diploma and 10 to 12 years of payroll management and operations experience
Must Have
- Subject matter expert for payroll software and systems such as ADP, Kronos, etc (pref. Workday) with a strong understanding of payroll related legislation, payroll taxes, benefits, taxation and labor laws in India
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

- Knowledge of emerging payroll technologies and trends
