About the Department

St Vincent’s Emergency Department is a challenging, dynamic environment with a diverse range of patient presentations. The department includes 2 resuscitation bays, behaviour assessment room, 16 acute cubicles, Fast Track Clinic and a short stay unit.

The Emergency Department consists of 47 treatment spaces including Resuscitation, Acute Cubicles, Fast Track, Short Stay, and a Crisis Resource Hub focusing on mental health & drug and alcohol presentations. The Emergency Department is a tertiary referral centre for Neurosurgery, Stroke, Cardiothoracic, Plastics & lower limb injuries.
 
About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for motivated Grade 2 Registered Nurses to join the Emergency Department team on a fixed term basis, full time or part time. You will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care in the Emergency Department.
 
Duties
• Document, observe and report relevant nursing findings
• Liaise with the patient, the patient's family, medical and multidisciplinary staff
• Manage the physical and emotional well being of the patient
• Participate in mentor / preceptorship programs of junior nursing staff
• Participate in ongoing education and training

Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum)
 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Completed Bachelor in Nursing Degree
• Current AHPRA registration
• Previous nursing experience in an Emergency Department
• Experience as a registered nurse for 2 or more years
• Demonstrate ‘best practice’ clinical nursing skills and knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a team
