Automation Engineering Lead

Our high-performance compute and Emmy-winning remoting software is the foundation for a new Edge business to deliver innovative compute models and workflows to enable hybrid work. Your proven skills to architect and implement automation and provide technical leadership to small teams will drive success in this role. You will have the opportunity to build critical automation to enable scale and reduce human error in data center operations & customer deployments.
In this role, you will help establish an automation architecture following software engineering best practices leading to a reusable, extensible, and maintainable automation framework. You will lead the expansion of automation for networking, virtualization, bare metal workstation deployment, and other configurations. You will directly impact the repeatability and scalability of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an automation framework that accelerates development and lays the foundation for the future.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the automation solution and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in automation.

  • Lead the migration to new tools and technologies that enhance the automation capabilities.

  • Lead and mentor the automation team and provide support for the operations team to ensure productivity and efficiency.

  • Develop, test, and deploy automation solutions for various processes and systems, such as web applications, databases, networks, infrastructure, and bare-metal workstations.

  • Perform troubleshooting and debugging of the automation solutions and ensure they are error-free and up to date.

  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for the ongoing maintenance and security of the automation tools.

  • Document and report the automation results and metrics and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as an automation lead or a similar role.

  • Strong software engineering skills and knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.

  • Experience with Ansible is a core requirement for this role.

  • Strong DevOps background, with experience in streamlining the deployment of automated workflows.

  • Expertise in using tools such as Digital Rebar, Python, Vault, and GitHub.

  • Knowledge of client OS and BIOS fundamentals.

  • Experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying automation solutions for various processes and systems, such as web applications, databases, networks, infrastructure, and bare-metal workstations.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors and managing external relationships.

  • Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.

  • Ability to learn new automation tools and technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements and environments.

The base pay range for this role is $118,050 to $181,800 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
