Cleveland Clinic’s H60 Neuroscience Unit is a specialized unit that oversees multiple neurology conditions, such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, brain and spine tumors, Parkinson’s Disease, epilepsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, degenerative brain diseases and spinal disorders., and provides caregivers with a lot of versatility and exposure.
A caregiver in this position works nights| 7:00pm—7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
Perform routine laboratory tests.
Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program
Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
If in ED, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross within one year of hire in ED settings
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of patient care experience
