Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as an Associate
Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.
How you will make a difference:
Our Behavioral Health Therapist role assess clients at start of treatment (reviews as needed), develops and maintains treatment plans, and conducts family collateral and discharge planning. Duties include discussing goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishes a contract with the consumer. Interviewing consumers to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in/telephone basis; respond to potential suicide or other emergency events. Visits clients, individually or as part of a team, in a variety of living situations, to help assess the mental health needs of individuals and families, observe progress, provide counseling, gather data, and report significant changes in the client's condition to designated professional staff.
Division/Program Overview:
The Valley Star Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC) operates on a voluntary basis, available 24/7 in an unlocked setting allowing stays of up to 23 hours. It offers rapid mental health assessment and crisis intervention for all age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, who require immediate access to crisis mental health services. The center plays a crucial role in providing immediate crisis intervention and stabilization services to those in need. Individuals admitted to the crisis stabilization unit receive support and services to facilitate their safe transition to the next level of care or back to the community.
